Trevor Noah's Upcoming Grammy Hosting Marks a Bittersweet Farewell
Trevor Noah is set to take the stage once again as the host of the Grammy Awards for the sixth consecutive year, a fact that CBS officially confirmed on Tuesday morning. However, in a statement from executive producer Ben Winston, it was revealed that this will be Noah's final appearance in this role.
"I couldn't be more excited to have Trevor Noah return to host the Grammys for his sixth and, unfortunately, last time," Winston expressed in a statement on Tuesday. "He has been an extraordinary host for the show. His intelligence, humor, and genuine appreciation for the artists and their music have left a remarkable impact. We are eagerly looking forward to sharing this final experience together."
In addition to marking Noah's last hosting gig, the 2026 Grammy Awards will also signal the end of the show's long-standing relationship with CBS, which has lasted for many years. Starting next year, the Grammy ceremony will find a new home on ABC and Disney+, with Disney securing the rights to air the Grammys until 2036.
Trevor Noah first stepped into the role of Grammy host back in 2021, succeeding Alicia Keys, who had hosted the previous two ceremonies in 2019 and 2020. Noah faced unique challenges during his inaugural hosting experience, as it took place amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The event adopted strict health protocols to ensure safety, including social distancing measures and the use of multiple performance stages to minimize risk. He has continued to host every subsequent ceremony, including last year's event, which occurred shortly after the devastating wildfires in the Palisades and Eaton areas.
The 68th Grammy Awards are scheduled to occur at the Crypto.com Arena on February 1st, airing live starting at 5 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount+. This year’s nominees in major categories include prominent artists like Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, Rosé, and Doechii. Details regarding performers for the show are expected to be announced soon.
