The Tecno Camon series takes a step forward, but not without some trade-offs. While the Ultra model might not reach the Premier's heights, it still boasts an impressive camera setup. With a triple rear camera and a powerful selfie shooter, it's a compelling choice for mobile photography enthusiasts.
But here's where it gets interesting: the rear camera setup has some surprises. The main and telephoto cameras feature 50MP sensors, but the ultrawide camera takes a step down with a more modest 8MP sensor. This is where the controversy begins - is this a necessary compromise or a missed opportunity?
Rear Camera Setup:
- Main Camera: The 50MP Sony sensor delivers excellent daylight photos with vibrant colors and great dynamic range. However, the 50MP shots reveal heavy sharpening, indicating a software-driven approach. Human subjects look fantastic, with well-judged exposures and lively skin tones.

The Tecno Camon 50 Ultra can record 4K30 videos with the main, telephoto, and selfie cameras. While the main and telephoto cameras produce acceptable daytime videos, the ultrawide camera's footage is less appealing. Interestingly, all three cameras perform decently in low-light video recording, and the stabilization is commendable.
