Packers Boost Isaiah Neyor's Game-Day Status
The Green Bay Packers have promoted wide receiver Isaiah Neyor to the active roster for the upcoming game, as announced by General Manager Brian Gutekunst on Saturday. This move comes after Neyor, a rookie, has been a consistent presence on the Packers' practice squad since signing with the team in early August.
Standing at 6-4 and weighing 218 pounds, Neyor's journey to the NFL began with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent on May 9. However, he was released just a few weeks later on August 4. Neyor's college career was a diverse one, playing for the University of Wyoming (2019-21), the University of Texas (2022-23), and the University of Nebraska (2024).
In his final year at Nebraska, Neyor made a significant impact, playing in 12 games with nine starts. He led the team with five receiving touchdowns and was second with 455 yards on 34 receptions, averaging 13.4 yards per catch. This performance earned him second-team All-Mountain West honors in 2021, where he also led the conference in yards per catch (19.95) and receiving touchdowns (12).
The Packers' decision to elevate Neyor to the active roster for gameday suggests a recognition of his potential and a strategic move to boost the team's offensive capabilities. With his impressive college credentials and the opportunity to contribute on game day, Neyor is poised to make a significant impact on the Packers' season.
