A worrying development has emerged for the Bulldogs ahead of the highly anticipated All Stars game. Both the Indigenous and Maori All Stars teams have suffered last-minute injury setbacks, casting a shadow over the annual clash in Hamilton.
The Indigenous team will be without Josh Kerr, who has been ruled out due to an unspecified minor injury. Meanwhile, Leo Thompson has also been forced to withdraw from the Maori squad, with Bulldogs GM Phil Gould describing the issue as "general tightness" in his calf muscle.
Gould took to X, formerly Twitter, to provide an update, stating that Thompson will undergo scans upon his return home on Monday. Interestingly, Gould noted that Thompson "didn't appear to experience an acute injury or incident," but when pushed on whether he could have played in a grand final scenario, Thompson admitted he "probably couldn't."
This revelation has raised concerns, as Gould himself acknowledged, "That's a concern."
